Let er op dat u bij het planten in de volle grond de boom niet te diep in de grond zet, dit geldt ook voor de pot bloembak of kuip.

De wortels moeten net onder het maaiveld zitten en de entplek mag zeker niet onder de grond . omdat uw boompje dan op eigen wortel gaat groeien en de onderstam zijn functie verliest.

Hebt u een fruitboompje in kuip of pot dan is het goed om jaarlijks de grond te verversen, u haalt de boom voorzichtig uit de pot of kuip en schud de grond er grotendeels af.

Let hierbij wel op dat u de haarwortels niet beschadigd, eventueel kunt u wat hele dikke houtige wortels verwijderen, maar wel zo dat er voldoende haarwortels overblijven.

Oppotten in een vers potgrond mengsel en bij mesten met een organische meststof .

Als uw plant verhuisd naar een grotere pot hoeft dit niet, mits de kluit goed rondom in de potgrond zit.

Wel bij mesten met organische langwerkende meststof.

Let er op dat u de grond niet al te vast aandrukt of aanstampt en giet de aarde ook niet kletsnat, zo voorkomt u dat er te weinig zuurstof bij de wortels komt.

Als u de grond wilt verbeteren met bemeste tuinaarde let er op dat dit vooral in het voorjaar en de zomer niet rechtstreeks bij de wortels wordt aangebracht i.v.m. "verbranding".

Als u de beschikking heeft over eigen compost is dat natuurlijk het mooist.

Een klein beetje kalk toevoegen is ook altijd goed, zo kunnen de voedingstoffen beter door de wortels worden opgenomen.
